Photosensitization Studies

The pharmaceutical, chemical, consumer products and cosmetics industries have many concerns about the photosensitizing properties of chemicals. Currently, guinea pig animal model assays are the standard for evaluating photo allergenic potential of chemicals.

Given regulatory and societal pressures, validated standard alternative assays are needed that reduce, refine and/or replacement the use of animals used in toxicity testing.

MB Research Labs has developed and has performed pre-validation studies of an alternative photosensitization assay by modifying our standard protocol for dermal sensitization (LLNA).
